Jon McNeal documents the environments that lie just at the margins of the everyday, or that enable our everyday. His recordings of these transitional environments are a mix of the familiar and strange. Framing these spaces at our physical or economic frontiers encourages viewers to find their own understanding of why and how our social ecology generated the scene. Raising questions of land use, resources, aesthetics, and relationships encourage dialogue about where we have been and where we are going.
