Artist Statement
Powerful external forces or consuming inner desires elicit and reflect a fundamental human longing. Between the fear of the prey and the intent focus of the predator, a space for transformation emerges. This fear and risk engender an exhilarating sensation of embracing fate, a concept Lorca called "duende." This force wounds us, shatters familiarities, and incites instant creative action. This creation arises only when a human confronts their potential destruction.
