Artist Statement
In “Poder campesino, poder migrante,” the migrant farmworkers appear in united force as they advocate for their rights in California. The scene captures the undaunted spirit of workers on the frontlines of the agricultural economy in a landscape not only resistant to acknowledge their contributions but also hostile to their political expressions.
My artwork is a tribute to the lived experiences of immigrant communities, encompassing migrant workers, movement leaders, and activists who have settled in the USA.
In Spanish, there's a saying "La unión hace la fuerza" which roughly translates as “unity brings power.”
