Artist Statement
My stamp paintings were an attempt to combine an extemporaneous, abstract application of paint within the confines of a recognizeable image. Colors were chosen from metallic oil paints to enhance the original monochrome stamp. The process included the challenge of recreating with paint the visual effect of an etching.
