Artist Statement
I am working on a series of politically provocative portraits of queer men of color called "Racial Portraits." This image shows two men of color, one Chileno/Filipino and one Black wearing white masks, acting out "American Gothic," metaphorically asking why they can't be "American Gothic," also knowing that as queer men of color, they will never be accepted as "American Gothic."
