In times of polarization, I’ve struggled to understand my journey and that of others. How to navigate the present with an eye on the past and the future? Dehiscence is defined as “the splitting or bursting open of a seed pod or wound”--a spilled abundance. Nature at capacity breaks open into something new and fuels progress.

Inspired by my father, an early computer science pioneer, and my mother, a descendant of Midwestern Catholic farmers and tailors, I incorporated personal and found materials. Collectively, these fragments comprise a “motherboard” of learning and labor that, though personal, is also a part of the larger circuitry of our shared history, struggles, and progress.
