Artist Statement
Several years ago, while sitting at a gallery in Concord, CA, I noticed a large business office with enormous reflective glass on their façade about a quarter of a mile away. This building was reflecting a partially completed housing project that was about the same distance as I was from the office building. Each section of glass created its own abstracted view of the housing project, which I found fascinating. I recall thinking that this may have been the start of building “affordable” housing in the Bay Area. It struck me that affordable housing may be just a myth and that the reflection maybe just a mirage.
