My paintings are in an enchanted and timeless universe, rather than reproductions of what I see. Inspired by dreams, they often have a surreal quality. "This Fountain of Youth" is a lovely place to heal spiritually and physically and find happiness again. I made everything by hand - frames, gesso and paint - with the same natural material and techniques used in the Middle Ages. The 15th century recipe for oil paint gives a depth close to enamel. I also applied 22k gold leaf to this painting.
