Artist Statement
This work is about the coexistence of personal and public lives, and how often the modern American must ignore their very real surroundings in order to appear happy. The juxtaposition between colors and mood is also a commentary on our relationship to our digital lives, and how manicured we want things to appear, despite larger issues that may seem daunting or beyond our control.
