Artist Statement
The watercolor painting is a portrait of a retired lieutenant from the San Francisco Fire Department. It was created as part of a series of watercolor portraits as a tribute to their service in protecting the city. I was privileged to get to know a number of active and retired S.F. firefighters and hear their stories.
