Having grown up in India's caste-based society, I identify myself belonging to the weaver's community. I practice the spinning of my ancestors with leftover threads sourced directly from Sari Looms during my visits to India. This series offer homage to my Indian roots. The suggested lines capture my memories of the fabric of the saris & the essences of the unique patterns. It is my intention that the meditative process conveys a contemplative & grounding experience for the viewer. With celebratory origins of Indian weddings & festivals, my color & material selections are intended to arise uplifting emotions. To me, they serve as a foundation of security from which great potential grows.
