I am pulled and electrified by the idea of leaping, the kind of leaping that happens in the creative process when our relationship with ink, word, and form brings us to something unknown, and not yet dreamed. This figure is mid-leap, mid-encounter. The motion toward us is undeniable, yet the thing itself that moves is unknowable / unfamiliar, a combination of ungainly, aggressive, wild, and delicate, tiptoed, stockinged. Contrasting references of power collaged with caution tape clash and are contained in a body that lurches forward but also defends.
