I create collages sourced from the distresses of my life. With a limited color palette and graphic geometric shapes, my work exhibits an oppressive sensibility. Text or implied language is also prominent in my work, which emerges from personal, often absurd and darkly humorous corners of my anecdotal history. This piece was inspired by when my dad reluctantly sat us down as a family to tell us he was sick and vaguely informed us that "it's not nothing." These words have been haunting me ever since his death.
