“Autonomy” is an intimate response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. It is a self-portrait reflecting on a feeling of loss of bodily autonomy, resulting in an inability to move. In my work as an artist, I encourage and celebrate a person’s ability to change and transform, but in this it is not clear if there is a choice that can be made to change my or any woman’s circumstances. "Autonomy" depicts the psychological toll of this development.
