"Serpiente de Las Estrellas" is part of an ongoing series entitled, "This Woman’s Work," an ongoing interdisciplinary project which seeks to visually illustrate the labor that queer, trans, and gender non-conforming women of color undertake to maintain the well-being of their families, communities, and society at large, that too often goes unnoticed, underappreciated, or underacknowledged. For this project, each collaborator represented in the work is interviewed on how they individually identify and perform invisible labor in their own respective lives.
