Using empathy as a means of communication, I investigate social awkwardness with humor. These two started out as cotton fabric remnants, soaked in porcelain slip. They became amorphic human forms that represent ourselves in society. Their personalities are exposed with lumps, bumps, drips, and cracks. They sit together, different yet the same, strong yet fragile, alone together. This piece represents human vulnerability during a time of extreme social fragmentation in our society.
