Recently, because of current political circumstances related to Iran, I came across many messages and clips on various media platforms that were referring to the following Saadi’s famous poem, which is placed at the entrance of the United Nations building in New York:
“Human beings are members of a whole
In the creation of one essence and soul
If one member is afflicted with pain
Other members uneasy will remain
If you have no sympathy for human pain
The name of a human you cannot retain”
I decided to revisit a painting I did a year ago demonstrating my interpretation of the same poem (actually written on it). The painting in oil portrays “Mother Nature,” seated on the globe.
