To be present as life emerges into the world is like a lightning bolt to the spirit. What an honor it was to accompany musicians Gina Madrid and Yrak Saenz-Orta as they struggled beautifully together to bring premature twins into being at the height of the Covid pandemic. Bienvenidos a la Vida, Edgar y Jorge! The English phrase "to give birth" translates more poetically into the Spanish Dar a Luz -- literally "to give to the light."
