This painting is one of a long running series of works based on a large, beautiful 40+ ft. willow tree that dominated my back property. I spent many years looking after and caring for this tree. During this time, I depicted it in a number of varied iterations of day/night, seasonal changes, growth and ultimately decay. I think of this work and others related to the willow as an homage to the beauty and majesty of this tree.
