During the seemingly never-ending COVID-19 pandemic, my collaborator Becky and I were drawn to explore the concept of the Wood Nymph. This ancient mythological narrative seemed a fitting symbol of our current times: a curious creature, forced to live in isolation, is observed by and tentatively approaches the artist in her woodland habitat. We developed all aspects of the photoshoot around this simple concept, selecting the location, lighting (all natural), wardrobe, and movement to evoke a wistful and dynamic mood. Minimal post-processing was applied in order to preserve the dreamlike, natural visual language.
