I started this quilt in a class taught by Anne Sullivan and Melanie Tuazon. We were challenged to create a narrative using fabric as the characters and setting of the story. This quilt is my improvisational exploration of how "being good" has changed me and my environment. The story follows me as I add layers of "good" protection in a society that values bright, happy, clean, and rigid structure. Eventually, all that "good" started obscuring the natural order and expanded beyond the boundaries of the story. It’s a tragedy of a creation story and a call to rebellion.
