Dannielle Sergent creates paintings and perfume that showcase her passion for the visual and olfactive power of the flower. "Lucia" is from the "Dark Lovelies" series: a collection of botanical portraits formed with flowers, leaves and seed pods. Some of these faces are easy to see, others are difficult. The concept for this portrait came via Sweden, where a special saffron farm is surrounded by apples, poppies, and mustard ... and where saffron buns are served during the St Lucia festival in winter. Each botanical forms part of the portrait, with saffron as her crown. These are typically exhibited with a bespoke fragrance to evoke the mood and personality of these botanical portraits.
