My work follows the trompe l'oeil tradition – “deceiving the eye” to see spatial layers and make-believe three-dimensional objects. The painting surfaces are perfectly flat. Viewers are often amused and/or confused by the illusion of 3-D. The patient viewer will eventually seek and understand the meaning behind the images. In this work, I ponder our existence on earth and humans' relationship with the natural world. I depict industrially produced matters pitted against natural phenomena and mystical occurrences humans are yet to understand.
