I took this photograph a few years ago while driving along Highway 1. Just before Pescadero, I pulled off and drove inland for a couple of miles until I found an open clearing.
I got out and walked a nearby trail for twenty minutes before encountering this old bridge. Standing at one end of it, I crouched down to get a lower perspective and took this image.
For me, it has a spiritual bent and evokes that path that all of us have to take--sooner or later.
