Artist Statement
In what was to become a relentless period of steady rain, a bluebird day in late January 2023 had me getting out late afternoon to see if the Elephant Seals had landed in force back to safety to one of their claimed stretches of sand at Point Reyes National Seashore, after months at sea among the white sharks and killer whales. Watching the bull seals joust for territory while the sunset painted the cliffs golden was mesmerizing.
