My art has an inherent need to tell the viewer a story. I like bold color and whimsical subjects to grab the viewer's eye and engage their imagination. Though working diligently behind the scenes of the art community since the late 80s, I've been away from the craft for over 30 years — the reunion has been joyful and surprising. As a re-emerging artist, I am taking time to rediscover my relationship to color, perspective, composition, and the temperamental qualities of acrylic and oil paints. My intention with this piece was simple: create a work that is large, colorful, and interesting. Though I typically steer clear of symmetry, I found the center subject for this piece delightful.
