Artist Statement
The glory of the Farmers' Market, I began painting the contents of my refrigerator during Lockdown. Covid brought a new appreciation for the humble lettuce and friends. During those days, it seemed like a miracle that I could still find and enjoy fresh produce. Now restored to more abundant times, I still paint these imaginary still-lives occasionally as a romantic homage to all the care and hard work it takes to bring fresh produce to our plates.
