Artist Statement
From the forest floor to the tips of the tallest trees, California coastal mountains display an amazing range of beautiful greens, browns and golds. This quilt is designed with a gentle curved block to create a forest of trees. The curved quilting is designed to reflect the rolling hills leading up the mountain. Tamalpais is a Miwok word meaning “coast mountain”
