Steeped in the beauty of San Francisco, I paint images reflecting the city I call home. This painting was inspired by the SF Botanical Garden’s magnolias, and for a touch of whimsy, I’ve included my signature hidden teapot. After years of working on commissioned pieces, I took a five-year break from painting. In 2016, a red teapot in a family member’s kitchen caught my eye and I picked up my brush. I painted that teapot pouring into a nearby creek, and the playful, surrealistic painting that emerged kicked my imagination into high gear. Now, I love figuring out how to place each teapot, turning my pieces into delightful brain tea-sers. For me tea evokes joy, and I hope my paintings do too.
