Throughout the pandemic years I found myself mothering in a new realm between my mother as she ages with dementia, my teenage children both facing formidable challenges and myself looking back at being mothered. I am learning how to mother in new and profoundly difficult circumstances. This uncharted territory has led me to the sanctuary of my studio, where I set out to process and create work that commemorates my experiences of motherhood. Motherhood, perhaps the most intense of loves, has much to teach us about who we think we are, how we think we will respond and what we think we are capable of.
