Steven Ottenstein is one of my oldest and dearest friends from Washington, D.C. where I grew up. When I took the photo upon which this painting is based, he had just climbed three flights of stairs to collapse in my entryway. He was ill at the time and we thought his days were numbered but happily it wasn’t so.

I painted this portrait of Steven for myself, but take a look at my site if you want to see some of the many commissions I have done. Portraiture is my specialty but I have painted pets, interior scenes, gardens, still lifes and urban landscapes of Paris which I called home for many years.
