Artist Statement
The peacock depicted in this painting is Percy, the iconic peacock that roamed Filoli Garden's property before passing in 2020. The first work that Ming Jan drew of Percy resides at Filoli Garden as an homage to Percy for gracing the grounds.
許多年前Percy 自己從北邊飛到 Filoli Garden 想尋找伴侶，雖然他沒有找到他的另外一半，但他卻在 Filoli Garden 得到了許多友誼和讚美, 我每次去 Garden 都會欣賞到他展示他美麗的舞步和如寶石般藍色的羽毛！如今他已不再出現，所以我將它畫在畫布上，讓來花園的遊客能永遠看見他、懷念他！
