Venus stands before us as both human and statue. Exposed and strong. The octopus has many hearts and is a creature otherworldly as is Venus. This piece is part of a love series.
I only began painting a few years ago.
And painted my first painting on a dare.
(I didn’t even think I could draw).
I studied gardening arts at Harvard and was a professional gardener.
I always loved museums and culture as well as Northern Renaissance Art and Victorian portraiture. My painting of Venus reflects my love of Renaissance iconography and the attention to the nude yet has a modern feel.
